Tolkien, and More I recently got to speak with Billy Boyd at a London press junket about the closing credits song, “The Last Goodbye,” he wrote for the final chapter in Peter Jackson‘s Hobbit trilogy, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. Tolkien, meeting long-time LOTR fans at a pub in London the night before the world premiere, and a lot more. Hit the jump to watch. As most of you know, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies is now in theaters. Unlike the first two installments of The Hobbit, the final chapter is almost non-stop action and features some incredible sequences that fans of The Lord of the Rings will absolutely love. In addition, if you have the chance to see it in 3D, the added ticket price is worth it for this movie. The film stars Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, Evangeline Lilly, Luke Evans, Benedict Cumberbatch, Stephen Fry, Cate Blanchett, Ian Holm, Christopher Lee, Hugo Weaving, Ken Stott, James Nesbitt, and Orlando Bloom. Before getting to the interview, here’s The Last Goodbye music video: Billy Boyd: How they brought over an actual Hobbit hole from New Zealand and set it up in the hotel where the interviews were taking place. How did he get involved in doing the closing credits song? Does he have any good stories about meeting Lord of the Rings fans? Talks about going to a pub in London the day before the World Premiere. Any embarrassing moments from filming LOTR? If he could ask J. R. R. Tolkien a question what would he ask?
